A Fine Menu at the Mill at Rode

We take enormous care over our food at The Mill. The menus are changed every 3 months and are built around what is growing locally at the time of year.
Mark Bailey our head chef and his team take great pride in sourcing excellent ingredients that speak for themselves. Our butchers, fishmongers and green grocers have all proven themselves time and again both in the quality of their produce and their ability to supply. Mark has given The Mill an excellent reputation as an excellent and exciting place to dine.

Starters
Warm summer herb blinis topped with Rosemount smoked salmon in a caper & lemon dressing.
Selection of award winning salamis & chorizo with roasted red pepper salsa & crisp garlic toasts.
Cornish crab croquettes with a minted pea salad & citrus vinaigrette.

Lunch Time Main Courses
Char-grilled West Country rib eye steak with a wild garlic butter, served with fries & dressed leaves.
Boiled bacon with broad beans steamed new potatoes & parsley sauce.

Vegetarian Dishes
Orecchiette pasta with summer peas, courgettes & spinach in a white wine cream sauce topped with shaved Parmesan.
Sweet potato & coconut curry with basmati rice & lentil dhal.

Char-grilled West Country rib eye steak topped with Dorset Blue Vinney butter, served with fries & dressed leaves.
Roasted fillet of Cornish hake with braised chorizo rice, summer herb dressing & a mixed garden salad.
Char-grilled tender loin of pork on an apple, celery & walnut salad with blue cheese dressing & fries.
Roast breast of chicken in a port, smoked bacon & red grape sauce served with steamed new potatoes & seasonal vegetables.
Pan fried breast of Barbary duck with Local gooseberry compote, roasted new potatoes & seasonal vegetables

Desserts
Hot chocolate & peanut butter fondant served with clotted cream.
Local strawberry shortbread with whipped cream & strawberry sauce.
White chocolate pot topped with raspberry compote & served with chocolate chip biscuits.
Lemon tart served with vanilla sauce & fresh raspberries.
